A manager with the San Diego County Office of Education’s Foster
Youth and Homeless Services was honored May 8 with an award from a
local organization focused on children and families.
Dr. Michelle Lustig received the Sir Henry Tarke Award
from the Family and Youth Roundtable as part of their annual awards luncheon.
The award is presented to a public administrator who has put
dreams, principles, and idealistic goals into policies, programs, and practices
that are measurable and meaningful to children, youth, and families that
receive services from publicly funded health and human services agencies.
It was an honor to receive the recognition, Lustig said.
“It is a true privilege to do this work, and I am very
grateful for the opportunity to contribute in a positive way,” she said.
Family and Youth Roundtable is an organization dedicated to advancing
excellence in public services for children and families through an independent
network of youth and families.
The organization’s Knights of the Roundtable Awards are
given to five people each year for their work toward ensuring that all children
and families are safe, healthy, and thriving.
