San Diego Ag in the Classroom is proud to present its 7th Annual Teacher Resource Fair, aka the Food and Flower Happy Hour, on Thursday, Oct. 3, 2019 at the Del Mar Fairgrounds from 4 to 6 p.m. It's quick, fun, free, full of resources, and it's all for educators.
Whether it’s through a school garden, a field trip, or an engaging classroom presentation or project, agricultural issues bring STEM to life and make for relevant and real-world education. This year’s event will have special emphasis on the interactions between agriculture and the environment, especially climate change. Learn about carbon farming and the greenhouse effect, as well as composting, protecting native pollinators, watershed management, and more. You'll leave with a greater understanding of the issues and a greater confidence to explore these topics with your students -- not to mention some awesome garden swag.
Local farmers and nonprofit organizations will be on hand to share resources for school gardens, agriculture, and/or environmental education. Tastes of local wines and appetizers featuring San Diego produce will be provided as well.
For more information and to register for this event, please visit sdaitc.org before Sept. 29.
