Three San Diego County students were recognized by San Diego County Credit Union® (SDCCU®) and the Better Business Bureau serving serving Imperial, San Diego, and Orange counties through the Ambassador Scholarship Program. Through presentations, Ambassadors empowered high school peers nearing college and beyond with tools for navigating credit and budgeting, online safety, rentals and housing, student loans, scholarships, and employment scams.
Sundus Hersi, a student from Helix Charter High School, receiving a first place scholarship of $2,500. Kevin Do, a student at Serra High School, received a second place award of $1,500. Zubeyda Farah of Helix Charter High School received a $1,000 scholarship. They were honored in front of friends and family at a reception held at iHeartRadio on Jan. 15.
Students seeking consideration for scholarships were required to deliver presentations to their peers after receiving training on provided presentation material. In total, 101 presentations were delivered at 44 different high schools, reaching 21,746 students across San Diego, Orange and Imperial counties.

All participants received a certificate recognizing their contributions as Official BBB Ambassadors and are encouraged to include their involvement on resumes and college admission applications, highlighting their experience public speaking.
