The San Diego County Office of Education, in partnership with North Island Credit Union, is launching the county’s first School Counselor of the Year (SCOY) program. We will present two awards, one to a deserving K-8 school counselor and another to a high school counselor.
A panel of San Diego county educators and at least one school counselor will determine the two winners. The recipients of the awards will be recognized at the San Diego School Counselor Con on March 9 and advance to the California Association of School Counselors School Counselor of the Year competition.
Nominees must be employed as a full-time school counselor during the 2019-20 school year and have completed at least three years as a practicing school counselor. They should be strong advocates on behalf of their profession and demonstrate how they collaborate with their school stakeholders. See application for additional criteria.
Nominations are due to Zeret Lara at email@example.com by 5 p.m. Jan. 31.
