2020 Youth Candidate Forums Give High School Students a Voice

How concerned are high school students about climate change? Do they want a county supervisor who will tackle the homeless situation? Two upcoming forums will give San Diego students a chance to ask 2020 candidates about what matters most to them.

The San Diego County Public Defender Youth Council, in partnership with the San Diego Public Library, will host two Youth Candidate Forums with candidates for both San Diego City Mayor and San Diego County Board of Supervisors. The forums, organized and led by the Youth Council, are non-partisan and provide an opportunity for young people to meet and question their prospective city and county leaders.
Although the forums are a few months away, the organizers are collecting candidate questions now. High school students throughout the county are encouraged to submit their questions to no later than Nov. 15, 2019. Be sure to include the names of the student and school.

Save the dates. More information about attending events to come.
