Public Notice: SDCOE Applies for ASSETs, 21st CCLC funding

The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) notifies the community of its intent to apply to the California Department of Education for consortium funding for two programs that support academic enrichment during non-school hours: the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Elementary and Middle School Program, and the 21st Century After School Safety and Enrichment for Teens program (ASSETs).

The 21st Century CCLC program helps students meet state and local academic standards in core subjects, such as reading and math, offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement the regular academic program, and offers educational services to the families of students participating in programs in districts/charters across San Diego County.

The 21st Century ASSETs program provides the implementation of academic enrichment opportunities and activities designed to complement students' regular academic program and that support college and career readiness, assist with literacy and related educational development services for families of these students, and provide a safe environment for students participating in programs in districts/charters across San Diego County.

Districts/charter schools interested in participating in the SDCOE consortium application may contact Dr. Lisa Johnson Davis at lisa.davis@sdcoe.net or 858-298-2096 no later than Friday, Oct. 8, 2021.

This announcement serves as public notice of our intent to apply.
