Inspiring and leading innovation in education

Brandman University and SDCOE Partner on Scholarships

Brandman University, a private nonprofit institution, has expanded its agreement with the San Diego County Office of Education to offer a Community Partners Scholarship to staff at all public schools and district offices located in San Diego County.

Eligible personnel can now enroll in one of Brandman’s online programs or ground based programs at its San Diego campus at a reduced rate.

“We are offering three separate scholarships for three separate levels of degree seekers,” said Gary Brahm, chancellor of Brandman University, part of the Chapman University system. “Our graduate degree scholarship offers a $90 per credit reduction from full tuition, while our undergraduate degree scholarship removes $75 per credit. Those wishing to pursue a doctoral degree will receive a $91.50 per credit discount.”

“Teaching and learning is at the core of what we do, for both kids and adults,” said Dr. Randy Ward, San Diego County superintendent of schools. “The partnership with Brandman gives San Diego County Office of Education employees, as well as district employees, a chance to further their educational goals and continue to learn.”

The University is also offering a fixed tuition rate of $5400 per year for a competency based bachelor of business administration degree for those school district staff who enroll by August 31, 2014.

Brandman will offer and fund Community Partner Scholarships to school district staff for student enrollments in graduate and undergraduate degree programs (excluding nursing, certificate, credential and associate degree programs).

The scholarship rate will remain constant for the duration of the entire program so long as the student does not miss more than two consecutive sessions, continues to make satisfactory academic progress, and remains in good academic and financial standing in accordance with the University’s existing catalog.
