San Diego educators and members of the public are invited to an exclusive screening event for the National Geographic Channel's new series, "The Story of Us with Morgan Freeman." The series sees the award-winning actor/producer travel the globe in search of an answer to one fundamental question for humanity: what are the common forces that bind us together?
At a time when the whole world seems to be polarizing into irreconcilable camps, Freeman sets out on a journey in search of the forces that push us apart, from intolerance of differences to fear of outsiders, and the possibilities of coming together.
The screening, Monday, Oct. 30 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the University of San Diego, will show an episode of the series that tackles the question, "Can we bridge the divide between 'us and them?'" The screening will be followed by a moderated question and answer session with series executive producer James Younger. Moderating the session will be Jon Huckins, co-founder of San Diego-based The Global Immersion Project, a peacemaking and training organization.
The event is free and open to the public, but requires an RSVP.
