Athletic competition is an integral part of the high school
experience. On Jan. 22 Monarch School was unanimously approved as a member of
the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) San Diego Section, Division V.
Monarch will compete as a member of the Frontier Conference throughout the

concepts of sportsmanship, honesty and quality academics.”
Starting in the Fall of 2014, Monarch will field teams in
both girls' and boys' cross country. Monarch will also compete in boys' and
girls' basketball, badminton, and track and field.

Monarch School is a K-12 public school serving the needs of
children impacted by homelessness. The only school of its kind in the county,
Monarch is a unique public-private partnership between the San Diego County Office of Education’s Juvenile Court and Community Schools and the nonprofit Monarch School Project, a 501(c)3 organization; the County Office provides teachers and an accredited education, and the Project supplements this program through academic and enrichment programs including an after school program, expressive arts therapy, and counseling.
