The October edition includes several SDCOE-offered programs and resources, along with offerings by some of our community partners. Some of these opportunities are highlighted below. Join the Kindness Unites Paper Chain Project
Kids for Peace, home to The Great Kindness Challenge, invites students across San Diego County and their families to come together to share messages of love and hope while setting a record for the world’s longest recycled paper chain ever.
Schools are encouraged to make and send in a quarter, half, or full mile paper chain section that will be added to the final 100-mile chain at a special event on World Kindness Day, Nov. 13 in Carlsbad. After the paper chain is officially measured for the Guinness World Record, sections will be distributed to display in hospitals, senior centers, libraries, and schools. Visit the program page
to sign up your school, see the various ways to participate, and step-by-step instructions for how to create the paper links. Check out this video
from local students inviting others to join the challenge.
