Ben Evans, an 8th grader from Twin Peaks Middle School in Poway, is the new countywide spelling champion, besting the two-year winner after several rounds of increasingly difficult words.
Twenty-two San Diego County middle and high schools have been selected for the prestigious 2024 California Distinguished Schools Program.

The San Diego County Board of Education unanimously passed a resolution endorsing March 2024 as Arts Education Month.
Because of inclement weather and icy road conditions, schools in the Julian Union Elementary School District, Julian Union High School District, Spencer Valley School District, and Warner Unified School District will be closed on Friday, March 15. The Mountain Empire Unified School District will have a late start.
