The deadline to submit a breakout session proposal for the Equity Conference 2020 has been extended by one week, to Oct. 21. This is your opportunity to join hundreds of educators, policymakers, advocates, and others to advance educational equity for California's most vulnerable students.
Sessions should provide actionable strategies for the improvement of academic and social emotional instruction, inclusive school culture, and equitable systems across organizations that support our most vulnerable youth.
Conference Goals: Provide up-to-date and relevant research, tools, and strategies that best support our country's most vulnerable youth and young adults.
Conference Theme: Where there is vision there is hope.
Breakout sessions are organized into five overarching strands:
- Culture and Climate
- Family and Community Engagement
- Mental Health and Wellness
As well as six sub-strand focus areas:
- Cultural Responsiveness
- Disproportionate Representation and Access
- Homeless and Foster Youth
- LGBTQ+ Youth
- Multilingual Learners
- Students with Disabilities
