On Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF) and San Diego County Office of Education hosted its Fourth Annual College and Careers Pathway Summit at National University's Spectrum Center. The sold-out event was a chance for education, business, and nonprofit leaders in our region to explore delivering college and career readiness for our students.
The Summit featured a keynote presentation on the Future of Work by Mike Fasulo, president and COO of Sony Electronics. Fasulo oversees a multi-billion dollar business in Canada and the United States and is a firm believer in building and supporting a diverse work environment where employees' unique differences are recognized and celebrated. Fasulo is chairman of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) Executive Board, on the board of The Digital Entertainment Group (DEG), and is a National Trustee of the Boys and Girls Club of America, and each year he co-chairs the Military Youth of the Year program.
More than 200 summit participants also heard from an industry panel, attended breakout sessions, and had a lot of chances to network. "This summit is a great opportunity for our region's education and business leaders to work together to ensure the classrooms of today are preparing students for the jobs of tomorrow," said San Diego County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Paul Gothold.
Thank you to National University, Journeys, the World of Work Network, other event sponsors, and all of the wonderful panelists and presenters.
