Paola Ramos has been with the San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) for 20 years, starting as a student worker in the data center in 1999. She is now supervisor of the data center on the main campus.
She said she particularly enjoys being able to help people with their tech needs.
"It's a humble honor to represent SDCOE's Integrated Technology Services and all the unsung work that is done behind the scenes to support the districts and children we serve," she said.
Her focus on customer service was a big part of why Ramos was honored as SDCOE's Classified Employee of the Month for June.
In their nomination of Ramos, SDCOE employees Bruce Roberts and Flora Pourzamani wrote, "Any interaction we have with Paola is very positive and productive."
Ramos said she's thankful for her co-workers, who are hard-working, funny, and positive.
One of her most satisfying projects was working on the transition to a new finance and human resources system.
"It was a multi-team effort, but I got to shutdown the Legacy hardware and officially say goodbye to a piece of our history," she said.
In her free time, Ramos enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures. She was once a professional dancer and was able to travel to perform around the world.
