The San Diego County Office of Education is partnering with other organizations to highlight career technical education opportunities for students in information and communication technology (ICT).
The County Office is committed to helping districts and schools connect the educational experience to the world of work to guarantee all students graduate prepared for college, career, and life.
ICT is considered a priority sector in San Diego County as more skilled employees are needed to fill high-wage jobs in this growing industry.
Behind the Scenes in ICT is a free learning event designed for middle and high school teachers to learn more about integrating ICT in their classes.
The workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 28 will be at San Diego Central Library at 330 Park Blvd.
It features ICT work-based learning opportunities available to educators to enhance class time. It also includes a hands-on look at the learning labs at the Central Library. The event concludes with a tour of a Sempra Energy site.
The workshop is presented in part by the San Diego County Office of Education, Regional Pathways, San Diego Public Library, and Doing What MATTERS.
There are a limited number of spots available; register with Career Academics by Nov. 16.
