Solana Beach School District Seeks Applicants for Independent Citizens’ Oversight Committee

The Solana Beach School District (SBSD) is looking for volunteers to serve on its Independent Citizens' Oversight Committee (ICOC). The ICOC ensures bond proceeds are specifically used to support school construction projects as authorized by Measure JJ, which was passed by local voters in November 2016. Committee members serve two-year terms and provide oversight of the District's $105 million school bond construction program.

The District seeks four representatives for the following positions:

  • One member shall be active in a business organization representing the business community located within SBSD
  • One member shall be active in a senior citizens' organization
  • Two members, selected from the public at large

Community members interested in applying to serve on SBSD's ICOC can get more information and access the application at www.sbsd.net/ICOC. Applications are due by March 19, and candidates will be interviewed in April. The SBSD Board of Education will consider ICOC member appointments at the regularly scheduled Board meeting on May 20.
