School Information
Referral Process
The Friendship School referral process begins with an initial collaboration meeting between Friendship school and the potential school district looking for student placement. This meeting can be held either in person or by phone, to discuss the student and the reasons for the referral. With a signed release of information, the referring school district provides the student’s current IEP and any updated assessment reports for review. Following this consultation and record review, the Friendship team determines whether the student may be a potential candidate for the program. If appropriate, an observation is conducted in the student’s current educational placement, and any additional records may be requested as needed. If the program continues to appear to be a suitable option for the IEP team to consider, parents are typically invited to tour the Friendship School. Throughout the referral process, Friendship staff maintain ongoing communication with the District of Residence to support collaboration and ensure a smooth and informed referral process.
Enrollment Procedures
Students can enroll at Friendship School after the district of residence IEP team has agreed on placement at the school. Once placement occurs, parents must complete the necessary forms to enroll their child, and contact the principal, Ms. Rachel Page, at Rachel.Page@sdcoe.net to arrange a start date
