Who are we?

The East County Community Advisory Committee is a partnership of parents, educators and community members from 11 East County local educational agencies working together to promote effective special education programs.

What do we do?

The primary functions of the CAC are to:

• Advise the SELPA on the local plan. 
• Assisting in parent awareness of importance of regular school attendance. 
• Support and provide parent education

How can I become a member? 

CAC Members are appointed by their local school board. Each district/LEA has their own process to bring forward candidates to their board by approval. Please contact your district/LEA's special education department if you are interested in learning more. 

2025-26 Meeting Dates and Agendas

CAC Meetings are held either at the East County SELPA Office, 924 East Main St., El Cajon. or virtually. Business meetings begin at 6 p.m. In 2025-26, meetings will be held on:
