Community Advisory Committee (CAC)

The North Inland Special Education Region (NISER) Community Advisory Committee (CAC) is comprised of parents, community members, and school staff from the ten districts within the North Inland Special Education Region (NISER). The members of the CAC all have a particular interest in providing quality special education services to students with disabilities.

The primary purpose of the CAC is to provide input on the Local Plan (the document that describes services in the region). However, the CAC meetings may also include information and updates on the law, demonstrations or information about special programs, budgets, resources, events, etc. When you come to a CAC meeting, you can ask questions, get information, express your opinions, and get to know the people who make decisions about special education.

Join the cac

The North Inland SELPA is always seeking members to join the CAC. Would you like to join a team of parents, educators, and individuals with a personal and/or professional interest in creating a network between the SELPA, schools, families, and the community? This opportunity is achieved through collaboration with parents, students, educators, and other community agencies.

To join the CAC, please contact your local school district administrator. The members of the CAC are appointed to a two-year term by the local school boards to represent the districts. View the CAC Bylaws (PDF) (Adopted Oct. 16, 2020) for additional information. Visitors are always welcome at the CAC meetings and events.

Meeting Accessibility

Spanish interpretation is provided at all CAC meetings. Please contact the SELPA office (760) 307-1658 no later than three (3) days prior to the meeting if you require an accommodation(s) due to a disability or need additional interpreting services.
