Supporting LGBTQ Youth

The San Diego County Office of Education is dedicated to supporting school district offices, parents, and community-based agencies in topics related to LGBTQ by providing training, staff development, technical assistance, and consultation.

Training

SDCOE collaborates with community stakeholders to co-host GLSEN: Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network Training (GLSEN). GLSEN, a research-based training, empowers K-12 educators among the 42 school districts to ensure that all youth have access to meaningful educational experiences, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. GLSEN focuses on increasing the number of adult allies in our nation's schools.
