Cheryl Carr, Middle School Educator, Director at Young and Prosperous Foundation
Carr is a middle school educator and youth leader committed to literacy, leadership development, and equitable access to opportunity. She teaches 7th and 8th grade English and supports multilingual learners through designated English language development instruction, helping students strengthen their academic voice and confidence across content areas.
In addition to her work in the classroom, Carr serves as the Director of Young and Prosperous Juniors, where she mentors middle school students in leadership, character development, and community engagement. Through this work, she creates meaningful spaces for young people to grow in confidence, accountability, and purpose.
Carr is also a member of Gen 11 of the RISE Urban Leadership Fellowship, a program dedicated to cultivating leaders who are committed to equity and transformational change. She believes deeply in modeling lifelong learning and leadership, holding herself to the same high standards she sets for her students.
Her work centers on empowering young people to think critically, lead boldly, and recognize their own potential.
